Eleri Walters is a dynamic bundle of energy and ideas. She's events manager at South West Wales Media and has loved her first year in the role.
We met yesterday to discuss one of her current major projects, creating the South Wales Evening Post's second Fashion Addict extravaganza. It's due in November and follows the roaring success of March's inaugural event.
A mightily impressive aspect of Fashion Addict is how SWWM staff promote it fully across their substantial portfolio. It was, perhaps, the most expansive promotional activity ever staged by the Post, its website http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/ and sister titles such as Swansea Life and Swansea Bay Business Life.
The knock-on effect for commercial backers must have been very handy.
The focal point of the forthcoming Fashion Addict will be a Swansea catwalk show highlighting the fashion world's winter collections. More than 1,000 guests are expected on the night, city boutiques and big name stores are already on board and promotional coverage is well under way. You can check out the Facebook page here.
From a PR and marketing perspective the early planning means a potential three months of coverage for those who hop aboard now. March's main sponsor, the Sancta Maria Hospital, has stood aside due to business changes so that leaves a huge opportunity for a successor who'd like a greatly raised profile in the months leading up to Christmas. The core audience will be Swansea, ages 25-45.
The main sponsor's branding, ads, advertorials, photos and other messages will appear regularly on SWWM platforms across southwest Wales and into southeast England.
There are also 10 VIP tickets for the show which, in itself, should be great fun and a superb networking opportunity.
I'll be preparing a brief for Effective Communication clients today. If you'd like more info just give me a shout.
Oh, and good luck, Eleri - I applaud the energy with which you're attacking this fun and sassy project.

Mags light up the Swansea Bay arts scene
Two lifestyle mags enjoyed by Swansea Bay readers share a passion for the arts this month.
Red Handed has much talked-about Welsh-born popster Marina Diamandis on its Spring 2010 cover; May's Swansea Life goes large on the latest Swansea Bay Film Festival - eight pages of news, interviews and listings.
The Marina and the Diamonds cover story is useful for the band as they play Cardiff on May 16.
Her interview with writer James Logan reveals an eclectic mix of musical influences.
They include Alisha's Attic, Dolly Parton, George Michael, Enya, No Doubt, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Juliana Hatfield ... and traditional Greek music.
Red Handed's free and can be picked up in libraries, council premises, hotels and shops. Incidentally, its latest reviews include Wind Street bar Moloko and advertisers include the Quiksilver stores in Llanelli and Carmarthen.
Swansea Life editor Wyn Jenkins got his own fingers inky after deciding to do a film fest feature.
He shares writing credits with Cherie Strawbridge on the glossy's Swansea Bay movie love-in.
The latest Swansea Bay Film Festival runs from May 8-16 and features a vast range of flicks. Media Master's eye was caught particularly by a short directed by Sharron Harris and known as I Can't Strip My Lambretta Down in the Kitchen Blues, a 25-minute American production called Adam Blank Gets a Vasectomy and the full-length feature http://www.zapping-alien.mozart-balls.com/.
It's great that Wyn and his staff, in their capacity as festival sponsors, are being so supportive of this fine left-field institution. And it's encouraging that some events are being staged in Carmarthenshire and Neath Port Talbot this year.
Get yer festival heads on right now, folks.

Rhod Gilbert defies time in Swansea
Comedian Rhod Gilbert makes it into the just-out February edition of Swansea Life magazine. Favourite holiday destination? "Mumbles - magical!" Well said, Rhod.
Speaking of which, the funnyman's on BBC TV Wales tonight (http://bit.ly/a65MdN), having been filmed at two Swansea businesses.
As part of his new-job-for-Rhod series, a film crew observed him in the Kingsway premises shared by hairdressing enterprise Andrew Price (http://www.andrewpricegroup.com/) and cosmetic clinic/medical spa Defy Time (http://www.defy-time.co.uk/).
Dishing out finely crafted bobs and revitalising body wraps, you would imagine, didn't come naturally to our man from the west.
Incidentally, a little birdie - well, Mark Ronconi, of Business Web Marketing (http://www.b-w-m.co.uk/) - tells me that star of the show could well be Defy Time's artistically inclined Katie Schaverien.
I can't wait to see the programme - today (Tues), 10.35pm, BBC1.
