Media Master spreads Swansea message a little further

Splendid news from Media Master HQ.
Ian Ambrose at http://www.gowernews.co.uk/ and Ruth Dockerty at Swansea Bay Futures have added website links to my daily Swansea Bay media brief.
A big thanks to both.
This adds to the bespoke version commissioned by city centre traders body Swansea BID.

Media Master plunges in with Swansea Bay Business Life

With Media Master's own business looking to consolidate a more focused market, a new lane is being strolled this month: advertising.
For the first time, Andy Pearson Publicity has booked space in Swansea Bay Business Life which - by now - will have been mailed to more than 5,000 business people and decision makers.
It'd be welcome if some of them took serious notice of my advertorial. I'll report back in future weeks to discuss the response rate.
The ad, incidentally, features new logo artwork by Swansea's Sigga Design.
In the meantime, here's my blurb as it appears in the high-gloss mag, part of the South Wales Evening Post empire.

IN picking up Swansea Bay Business Life, you made a wise choice. I’m similarly astute in promoting my services here.
The magazine hits thousands of local decision makers, with content finely tuned for the vibrant local business sector.
That’s why you’re reading it and why those like myself, with brilliant professional services to offer, pay to ensure our profiles are raised in its pages.
However, this magazine isn’t the only place I’ll flag up my rebranding. Indeed, I urge all businesses to view the whole media picture in its full widescreen glory.
There are an increasing number of great opportunities for publicity because, thanks to production technology, the Swansea Bay media sector has fragmented markedly.
Choice was once limited to the South Wales Evening Post, Western Mail and Swansea Sound. Now there’s a thriving, multi-tiered communications industry featuring everything from fresh new local-interest websites such as http://www.gowernews.co.uk/ and music fanzines to high-end glossy mags covering style, the arts and lifestyle.
There are new niche broadcasters such as Afan FM and Nation Radio. Whisper it here, but even Swansea Bay Business Life has keen competitors in its lucrative market.
All this means that, although the promotional opportunities are there, the local media landscape has become increasingly difficult terrain.
That’s why Andy Pearson Publicity is essential in ensuring that every penny spent on your media strategy is wisely invested. Editorial pieces should be pitched at the right time to the right journalist, ad campaigns should be carefully considered and soundly structured, promotions should be placed to maximise sales effects.
My own unique database lists, in great detail, around 50 media operations with a foothold in Swansea Bay. It’s there to be used.

Media Master delights the Swansea press

Great to see the South Wales Evening Post taking a keen interest in the Media Master.
Adelaide Street-based reporter Rupert Hall penned a piece for his Business in the Bay page. This is the Post's improved method of keeping the Swansea business commuity up to speed on all that's good to know.
Today there are pieces on globetrotter Rosie Swale-Pope and dentist Darren Owakee who's just opened a place in Sketty.
Alongside them there's a substantial story about city centre traders group Swansea BID taking up a bespoke version of this blog's daily breakfast brief.
Headlined Master Stroke to Catch News, it tells how BID manager Russell Greenslade has harnessed the power of the Media Master to keep his organisation's members in the loop on Swansea' Bay's ever-evolving news landscape.
Hall reports that the service is thought to be a first for the UK. No other towns and cities have an independent agency which monitors the local news.
Its benefits to BID members are summed up by Russell, who says: "Knowledge is crucial to business and the Media Master is a fabulous way of pointing our members to the content useful to them."
Thanks, Russell ... and thanks, Rupert.

Swansea Bay election coverage goes tabloid

Joy of General Election joys - Councillor Peter May has delivered another mock news publication.
The Lib-Dem hope is publishing his heart out in his bid to oust Labour from Swansea West.
A few days ago Media Master reported on the former maths teacher's cheeky mag - http://bit.ly/9QwG4M.
Today the Media Master letter box was penetrated by Swansea West News, a red-top tabloid lookalike.
In traditional demographic terms, it has the look which suggests Andy Capp-style left-wing fodder.
It's got a screaming headline - in black and red - which has a dig at Gordon Brown, George W Bush and Tony Blair. Over some incident concerning Iraq.
It's got a front page promo panel claiming that Swansea Bay families would be quids in with Nick Clegg in No 10.
Inside there's a cleverly presented editorial comment column which has a smidgen of Lib-Dem bias.
The back page peters out a little disappointingly, without any element of Premiership football scandal.
However, praise is due to Councillor May for doing a few things rival Swansea West candidates aren't - at least not at this abode ... 1 Communicating, 2 Being light-hearted, 3 Flatteringly using media know-how to deliver a message.
He shows that there's life in the old tabloid yet - even if it is only four pages thick and is printed in the England by a company headed by a dyed-in-the-wool Tory and slashing jobs.
